Camera Options

In terms of our availability for camera equipment, our options are fairly limited.Being only students will limited access to cash, our accessibility for high quality camera's aren't exactly the highest. However, our group specifically, does have access to one type of camera, that being the Canon Powershot a410.I'll post a photo of it after this paragraphs ends. However, the quality of the camera does leave a lot to be desired. The camera has a resolution of 3.2 MP (or 3.2 megapixels). That's not to say the camera isn't completely horrible in quality,of course not. But,even though the camera is fully functional,it is over 10 years old, leaving the quality to be outdated (camera specs were found on Canons official website).
However (I know I use "however" a lot in this post,my bad) I had just recently found out the exact quality of the iPhone 7 (my phone model) camera. The camera of the iPhone 7 has a resolution scale of 12-12.5 (depending on your source) MP on their rear facing camera.Of course, the contrast in quality is staggering, having our group lean more toward the iPhone for our filming.
The only problem with the iPhone is the smaller user interface. With a normal film camera, you'd pretty much have to automatically upload those photos/videos to a computer to edit and finalize. With a smartphone such as the iPhone 7,you have the ability to complete all of the needed tasks straight from that interface. That leaves the possibility for those two mediums to clash, disrupting the flow of the project.
Unless we find a suitable camera to film with, hopefully we'll be sticking with the more than useful iPhone camera.
